Ukrainian law enforcement officers are investigating the possible involvement of KRAKEN veteran in the murder in Bali

Ukrainian law enforcement agencies are investigating the possible involvement of veteran of the KRAKEN special forces unit Hlib Novostroyny in the murder of Ukrainian citizen Igor Komarov, which occurred on the island of Bali in Indonesia.

This was reported by Ukrainska Pravda, citing sources in law enforcement agencies.

According to the publication, investigators have established that Hlib Novostroyny was in Indonesia from January 31 to February 19, 2026. During the same period, Denys Galushko was also in Bali, to whom Indonesian law enforcement agencies had already informed about the suspicion of the murder of Igor Komarov and declared him an international wanted person through Interpol.

According to sources, both men were on the island at the same time and left it at the same time.

After returning to Ukraine, according to the publication’s sources, Novostroyny almost did not leave his place of residence for about two weeks and limited his contacts with his surroundings.

On July 30, 2026, he was detained in Kyiv as part of another criminal proceeding. The court chose a preventive measure in the form of night house arrest for him.

During the investigative actions, law enforcement officers seized the suspect’s mobile phone. According to sources, the data obtained from it may confirm Novostroyny’s stay in Bali and are of interest for the investigation of the murder of Igor Komarov.

Currently, Ukrainian law enforcement officers are preparing an international legal mandate to the competent authorities of Indonesia to exchange criminal proceedings and obtain additional evidence.

According to the publication’s source, the purpose of such an appeal is to verify the possible involvement of Gleb Novostroyny in the crime and coordinate further investigative actions with the Indonesian side.

At the same time, in the criminal proceedings within the framework of which Novostroyny was detained in Ukraine, he was notified of suspicion under a number of other articles of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. Among them are unauthorized abandonment of a military unit, evasion of military service, fraud on an especially large scale, forgery of documents, illegal manufacture of weapons and official forgery.

According to sources, the suspicion in these proceedings does not contain accusations of committing violent crimes.

The investigation into a possible connection with the murder in Bali is ongoing. As of now, an official notification of suspicion has not been served on Gleb Novostroyny in the case of the murder of Igor Komarov, and his involvement in this crime has not been confirmed by a court decision.
