Ukrainians can receive almost UAH 32.5 thousand in assistance: who is eligible and how to apply

In Ukraine, there is a financial support program from the Estonian Refugee Council (ERC Ukraine). Vulnerable households in designated regions can receive UAH 32,495 for household development and food production.

The program is aimed at internally displaced families and low-income local residents who have suffered as a result of the war. Funds are provided at a time to support several areas of the economy – growing vegetables, keeping poultry or livestock.

Who can receive assistance

To participate, a household must belong to at least one of the designated vulnerable categories. In particular, these include:

families in which only people aged 60+ live, including single people;

households where there are people with disabilities of groups I–II, serious or chronic diseases;
families where a person aged 50–59 is unemployed;

households with unemployed members aged 18–49;
families of veterans who have completed their service;
young households with family members under the age of 24;
large families with three or more children;
families with pregnant women or children under two years of age;
families with minor children headed by one adult.

Preference will be given to households in difficult financial situations and living in rural areas.

In which regions does the program operate

Residents of communities located 25 km or further from the front line in the following areas can apply:

Zaporizhia district of Zaporizhia region;
Izyum and Kharkiv districts of Kharkiv region;
Nikopol and Sinelnykiv districts of Dnipropetrovsk region;
Velykolyoksandrivska community of Beryslav district of Kherson region.
What can you spend 32,495 UAH on

Cash assistance is provided for the development of livestock, poultry and crop production.

This is a combined support for the household. For example, money can be spent simultaneously on gardening and keeping livestock or poultry, or on keeping two or more species of animals.

How to apply

To participate in the program, you must fill out an online application. Depending on the applicant’s circumstances, documents confirming IDP status, disability, damage or destruction of property, residence in a combat zone, injury or loss of a family member as a result of the war may also be required.

This type of assistance can be received once every six months. If a family has already received similar support from the Estonian Refugee Council or another organization during this period, it will not be able to apply for this payment again.
