Citizens with an incomplete package of documents or those who already have two valid passports may be refused

In Ukraine, citizens may be refused to apply for or issue a passport for travel abroad in cases stipulated by law. The State Migration Service of Ukraine reminded of this.

Who may be refused a passport

One of the main reasons for refusal is the lack of Ukrainian citizenship. Also, persons under the age of 16 will not be able to apply for a passport without proper representation or if the representatives do not have documents confirming their powers.

In addition, citizens who already have two valid passports at the time of application may be refused.

The package of documents is important

The Migration Service notes that the grounds for refusal may also be:

submission of an incomplete package of documents;

lack of information necessary for issuing a passport;
inconsistency of personal data with information in state registers and departmental databases.
How to report a refusal

The State Migration Service of Ukraine emphasizes that the decision to refuse is notified to the applicant within the established time limits, indicating specific reasons.

If the documents were submitted through an authorized intermediary, a written notification is transmitted through him for subsequent delivery to the applicant.

Is it possible to apply again

After eliminating the reasons for the refusal or changing the relevant circumstances, a citizen has the right to resubmit documents for the issuance of a foreign passport.
