Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that the coming months could be decisive for the further course of the war, as it is in the summer that Russia will decide whether to continue the escalation or move on to diplomatic steps.
According to the head of state, Ukraine, together with international partners, should increase pressure on the Russian Federation, in particular through sanctions, which remain one of the key instruments of influence. The President thanked the European allies for adopting the 20th package of sanctions, which covers the oil sector, industry and the banking system.
Separately, Volodymyr Zelenskyy commented on the preparations for the traditional military parade on May 9 in Moscow. He noted that this year there may be no military equipment at the event, which indicates a weakening of Russia’s capabilities.
“This will be the first time, if this is true, in many, many years that they cannot afford the presence of weapons at the parade,” the President emphasized.
At the same time, the head of state added that Ukrainian drones could also appear over the parade in Moscow.
“We must continue this pressure and push Russia towards diplomatic paths,” he emphasized.
