Volodymyr Zelenskyy signed a law on amendments to the 2026 state budget: more funds for the army and armaments

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy signed a law on amendments to the State Budget for 2026, which provides for additional funding for the security and defense sector.

This was reported by the press service of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.

This is Law No. 4908-IX, which allows for an increase in spending on financial support for military personnel, the purchase and development of weapons, as well as strengthening the country’s defense capabilities.

Financing, in particular, is planned to be provided at the expense of large-scale foreign assistance from the European Union.

Draft Law No. 15224 on budget adjustments was adopted by the parliament in the first reading on May 28, and on June 10, the people’s deputies supported it as a whole.

The document became one of the key decisions to ensure stable financing of the army in the conditions of the ongoing war and the need to strengthen the defense sector.
