The Advisory Group of Experts has completed the stage of assessing the high moral qualities of candidates for the positions of judges of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine under the quota of the Verkhovna Rada. Based on the results of interviews and analysis of the dossiers, only 10 out of 15 applicants were admitted to the next stage of the competition.
The following candidates received the “meeting” rating: Hanna Anisimova, Andriy Boyko, Vladyslav Ivashchenko, Yulia Kyrychenko, Kostyantyn Krasovsky, Ivan Nazarov, Tetyana Opanasyuk, Zakhar Tropin, Taras Tsymbalisty and Oksana Shcherbaniuk. They will continue the fight for two vacant positions in the Constitutional Court.
In contrast, four candidates — Yuriy Melnyk, Svyatoslav Onishchuk, Svitlana Srebranets and Natalia Sur — were recognized as not meeting the criterion of high moral qualities. No decision has been made regarding Roman Sabodash, but he is also withdrawing from the competition in accordance with the requirements of the law.
The next stage will be the assessment of the candidates’ professional competence. The written test is scheduled for April 14, 2026. If after this stage there are fewer than two candidates for one vacancy, a new competition will be announced.
Thus, the selection for the Constitutional Court enters a key phase, where not only the reputation, but also the depth of the applicants’ professional knowledge will be of decisive importance.
