Former head of the Presidential Office Andriy Yermak, who was sent to custody by the High Anti-Corruption Court with the possibility of posting a bail of 140 million hryvnias, is currently in a paid cell in a pre-trial detention center. His lawyer Igor Fomin told Delo.ua.
According to the lawyer, he personally paid for the cell for the suspect, but he has no confirmation of where Yermak is now.
“No one knows where the person is. This is abnormal. I know that we paid for his cell there, he is probably there, well, I don’t know. I personally paid for it,” Fomin said.
The lawyer also reported that funds for the bail are currently being collected. According to him, people have already started transferring money, but he did not name the exact amount of funds collected. At the same time, Fomin expressed hope that at least half of the required amount will be collected.
As a reminder, on May 14, the Supreme Court of Criminal Procedure chose a preventive measure for Andriy Yermak in the form of detention with the alternative of a bail of 140 million UAH. The former head of the OP is suspected of involvement in the legalization of 460 million UAH during the construction of the elite cottage town “Dynasty” in the Kyiv region.
According to the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine, former Minister Oleksiy Chernyshov and businessman Timur Mindich may also be involved in the scheme.
Journalists report that the largest contribution to the bail — 8 million UAH — was made by Roza Tapanova. Another 6.5 million UAH was contributed by lawyer Serhiy Sviriba. Among the donations, a symbolic contribution of 666 UAH was also recorded from actor and public figure Hryhoriy Hryshkan.
