Zelensky held a closed meeting with the “Servant of the People”: they talked about the front, negotiations and the future of the war

The President stated that within the next six months, Russia may be pushed into substantive negotiations on ending the war

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky held a meeting with MPs from the “Servant of the People” faction, during which they discussed the situation on the front, international negotiations, the economic stability of the state and further steps of the authorities in the conditions of war.

This was reported by Ukrainska Pravda, citing its own sources.

According to the publication, the meeting was also attended by the leadership of the Verkhovna Rada, the head of the State Duma Kirill Budanov and Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko.

At the beginning of the conversation, Zelensky informed the MPs about the current situation on the front, the results of international negotiations and Ukraine’s diplomatic work with allies. The parliamentarians were particularly interested in the issue of the internal stability of the state and the prospects for ending the war.

According to sources, the President expressed his belief that within the next six months, Russia can be pushed into substantive negotiations on ending the war.

At the same time, the head of state stressed the need for prompt adoption of legislative decisions on which receiving international financial assistance depends. In particular, this week the deputies are to begin consideration of amendments to the Customs Code.

The atmosphere of the meeting was much calmer than during the previous closed meetings of the faction. However, there were discussions.

In particular, People’s Deputy Yuriy Kamelchuk allegedly once again raised the issue of his possible appointment as Minister of Energy.

Also, non-faction deputy Maryana Bezugla again spoke in favor of the resignation of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrsky and called for “army reform”.

According to sources, in the future, such meetings of the president with the faction are planned to be held regularly – approximately once every two months.

Earlier, Volodymyr Zelensky also announced the improvement of Ukraine’s positions at the front and emphasized that the active defense of the Armed Forces of Ukraine is demonstrating better results thanks to technological solutions.
