Zelensky held talks with Drapaty and Horbatyuk amid rumors about the change of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky reported on repeated talks with the Commander of the Joint Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Mykhailo Drapaty and Deputy Chief of the General Staff Volodymyr Horbatyuk. The talks took place against the backdrop of media reports about possible personnel changes in the top military leadership.

Zelensky spoke with Drapaty

According to the president, during the conversation with Mykhailo Drapaty, the parties discussed coordination between all components of the Defense Forces of Ukraine.

“We managed to discuss many things with Mykhailo Drapaty. It is important that the experience of all components of the Defense Forces of Ukraine is applied in a coordinated manner,” Zelensky noted.

The media calls Mykhailo Drapaty one of the possible candidates for the position of Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Meeting with Horbatyuk

Separately, the president reported on a meaningful conversation with Deputy Chief of the General Staff Volodymyr Horbatyuk.

According to Zelensky, the main topic was Ukraine’s defense strategy, interaction with international partners, and accelerating the implementation of agreements on the supply of military assistance.

“We are discussing Ukraine’s defense strategy and the details of interaction with our partners. We are accelerating the implementation of agreements on supplies,” the president said.

Against the backdrop of reports of personnel changes

The president’s talks with the military took place against the backdrop of information that appeared in the media about possible personnel decisions in the leadership of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

In particular, journalist Vitaliy Glagola, citing his own sources, reported that there may be changes in the positions of Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, as well as the Chief of the General Staff. There is currently no official confirmation of this information.
