President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that despite the difficult pages of the common history between Ukraine and Poland, today the key priority remains security and unity in the face of modern challenges.

The head of state said this during a joint press conference with the Prime Minister of Ireland Michail Martin in Dublin.

According to Zelenskyy, historical contradictions between neighboring states are not a unique phenomenon, as most countries have difficult pages of the past. At the same time, the current reality requires focusing on common threats and the future.

The President emphasized that today Ukraine is actually fulfilling an important mission to protect not only its own statehood, but also the security of all of Europe, in particular the European Union.

The head of state emphasized that Ukraine remains a strong partner and reliable ally for its neighbors and counts on their continued support.

Zelensky’s statement came amid active discussions on historical memory and bilateral relations between Kyiv and Warsaw, which have once again found themselves in the spotlight in recent days.

Kyiv emphasizes that the strategic partnership between Ukraine and Poland remains an important element of European security in the face of ongoing Russian aggression.
