President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky has signed another sanctions package, which includes entities from the Republic of Belarus. The head of state announced this in his video address.

According to the President, the new restrictions should be a signal to international partners about the need to increase pressure on states and structures that directly or indirectly contribute to Russian aggression against Ukraine. “Russia does not have good will. It must be forced to take steps that reduce the intensity of the war,” Zelensky stressed.

The head of state separately emphasized that Belarus should not be drawn into the war, and also called for preventing further expansion of aggression against other European countries.

Ukraine’s sanctions policy continues to be one of the key tools for countering aggression. The President also previously announced the introduction of restrictions against Russian officials and collaborators in the temporarily occupied territories involved in the illegal removal of Ukrainian children, as well as against vessels of the so-called “shadow fleet” of Russia.

The new package of sanctions is aimed at further weakening the capabilities of the aggressor states and their allies, as well as at forming a coordinated international response to the ongoing war against Ukraine.
