President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy held a joint telephone conversation with US President Donald Trump and French President Emmanuel Macron after the G7 summit. The leaders summed up the results of the meetings and agreed on further steps to support Ukraine.

This was reported by the Office of the President of Ukraine.

The main topic of the negotiations was the strengthening of international assistance to Ukraine, coordination of diplomatic efforts and the search for ways to bring peace closer.

According to Bankova, the parties discussed in detail the results of the Group of Seven summit, during which the partners agreed to increase the supply of air defense systems, interceptors and long-range weapons to the Armed Forces of Ukraine, as well as to increase sanctions pressure on Russia.

After the conversation, Volodymyr Zelenskyy thanked Donald Trump for his support for Ukraine and separately noted the role of Emmanuel Macron in consolidating allies.

“I am grateful to President Trump for his attention to Ukraine and his willingness to help bring peace closer. “I am grateful to Emmanuel for the excellent organization of the summit and the consistently strong joint work,” the head of state noted.

The President emphasized that Kyiv, together with its partners, continues to work on strengthening diplomatic prospects and strengthening the state’s defense capabilities.

“Peace is needed. And we are doing everything to bring peace closer,” Zelensky emphasized.

Against the backdrop of intensified diplomatic contacts after the G7 summit, Ukraine is counting on new military assistance packages, strengthened sanctions against the Russian Federation, and additional support before the new heating season.
