President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky has changed the personal composition of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine. Former Prosecutor General Ruslan Kravchenko was excluded from the NSDC.
The president signed the corresponding decree No. 970/2026 on September 28.
The document amends the previous decree No. 501/2025 on the personal composition of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine dated July 19, 2025.
According to the new decree, Ruslan Kravchenko has been excluded from the NSDC. The document does not provide for other changes to the personal composition of the Council.
The decree comes into force from the date of its publication.
Kravchenko previously left the post of Prosecutor General
Ruslan Kravchenko was a member of the NSDC as Prosecutor General of Ukraine. In July 2025, he was included in the personal composition of the Council by the corresponding presidential decree.
On September 15, 2026, the Verkhovna Rada approved Kravchenko’s dismissal from the post of Prosecutor General. 317 people’s deputies voted for the decision. After that, the president signed a decree on his dismissal.
As reported, Kravchenko’s resignation took place against the backdrop of a high-profile special operation by the NABU and the SAPO “Carthage”. According to law enforcement officials, a criminal organization was exposed within the framework of the case, which could provide cover for a network of fraudulent call centers. Among the persons associated with its activities, an official of the Prosecutor General’s Office, Serhiy Kropyva, was named.
After that, Kravchenko resigned, and the president submitted a proposal to the Verkhovna Rada for his dismissal.
Now Kravchenko has officially terminated his membership in the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine.
