Zelenskyy: Ukrainian experience against the Shahed is becoming a global shield

2 min to read

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that recent events in the Middle East have demonstrated that even countries with more powerful air defense systems than Ukraine’s cannot guarantee 100% protection against missile strikes and attacks by Shahed-type drones.

According to him, the modern air defense systems of the Gulf states also face difficulties in intercepting ballistic missiles and drones.

“Our experience in countering attacks is largely irreplaceable. We are ready to share it with those nations that have supported Ukraine throughout this war,” the head of state emphasized.

Europe must create a real defense system

The President stressed the need to establish a comprehensive system in Europe to protect the air, land, and sea. This includes, in particular:

  • increasing the production of modern air defense systems;
  • developing counter-drone capabilities;
  • strengthening capabilities to counter ballistic missiles.

According to Zelenskyy, Ukraine’s experience, gained in the context of a large-scale war, could serve as the foundation for strengthening collective security on the continent.

The Iran Context and International Responsibility

Separately, the president addressed the situation regarding Iran, noting that it was this regime that transferred “Shahed” drones and the technology for their production to Russia.

He emphasized the importance of international resolve in supporting the Iranian people and holding the regime accountable.

Thus, Ukraine positions itself not only as a state defending its own airspace, but also as a country ready to share practical experience in countering modern security threats.
