Expert calls for transition from labor-intensive economy to high-tech model

Ihor Garbaruk is convinced that Ukraine should focus not on cheap labor, but on the development of technologies and innovations.

“We do not lack workers so much as we lack the introduction of new technologies,” he said.

According to Garbaruk, the Ukrainian economy needs engineers, technicians, and specialists who know how to work with modern equipment.

“What is better: calling 100 workers with shovels or one normal tractor? A tractor will do this work in 30-40 minutes. This is technology,” the expert explained.

He also emphasized that Ukraine should build a high-value-added economy and not repeat the migration mistakes of some European countries.
