Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko stated that the International Monetary Fund understood Ukraine’s position on the inexpediency of introducing VAT for individual entrepreneurs.
According to her, this issue is extremely sensitive for both society and parliament.
Ukraine’s position
During the Spring Meetings in Washington, the Ukrainian delegation held a series of consultations with the International Monetary Fund and European partners.
The government emphasized that introducing VAT for individual entrepreneurs is not a constructive solution at the moment – a position that Volodymyr Zelenskyy has also repeatedly voiced.
Searching for alternatives
Yulia Svyrydenko emphasized that Ukraine will continue to work with international partners on other budget funding tools.
In particular, this concerns the development of alternative measures to ensure the revenue side of the state budget for 2027.
Balance between reforms and stability
In fact, the government managed to convey a key position to its partners: the stability of the economy and small businesses is no less important than adhering to the reform schedule.
This decision may become an important signal for entrepreneurs, as the issue of the tax burden on individual entrepreneurs remains one of the most debatable in the state’s economic policy.
