In September 2026, the National Bank of Ukraine applied sanctions to nine financial institutions for violating legislation in the field of financial monitoring and currency regulation. The total amount of fines imposed was about 32.8 million hryvnias. The largest fine was imposed on Trust-Capital Bank.
Who was fined by the National Bank
Based on the results of the inspections, the regulator applied sanctions to one bank and eight non-bank financial institutions.
The violations concerned improper customer due diligence, shortcomings in assessing financial risks, maintaining documentation and submitting reports.
The largest fines were imposed on:
Bank Trust-Capital JSC – 20.5 million hryvnias.
Profitguide LLC – 10.47 million hryvnias.
FC Alliance Capital Group LLC – 952 thousand hryvnias.
FC Synergy LLC – 595 thousand hryvnias.
LLC “FC Goldana Plus” – 255 thousand UAH.
The regulator also issued written warnings to individual institutions.
Why did Trust-Capital Bank receive a fine of 20.5 million UAH
The largest financial penalty in September was applied to JSC “Bank Trust-Capital”.
According to the regulator, the grounds were shortcomings in the organization of financial monitoring.
In particular, this concerns violations of the requirements for applying a risk-based approach, due diligence on customers and implementing enhanced control measures regarding high-risk individuals.
In addition to the fine, the bank received a written warning due to shortcomings in internal documents regulating financial monitoring and risk management.
The financial company “Profitguide” was fined over 10 million UAH
The second largest fine was received by LLC “Profitguide” – 10.47 million UAH.
The National Bank found violations in the organization of primary financial monitoring, risk management and implementation of internal procedures.
In addition, the companies were issued a written warning for entering unconfirmed information into client questionnaires and non-compliance with statistical reporting requirements.
What other financial institutions did the NBU punish
FC Alliance Capital Group LLC received two fines: UAH 935,000 for violating financial monitoring requirements and UAH 17,000 for deficiencies in reporting on currency transactions.
FC Synergy LLC was fined UAH 595,000 for violating customer due diligence and risk assessment procedures.
Another UAH 255,000 fine was imposed on FC Goldana Plus LLC for deficiencies in internal documentation and violation of document storage requirements.
Who received written warnings
In addition to monetary sanctions, the National Bank applied written warnings to a number of financial institutions.
In particular, the following companies received comments:
PrAJSC “Ukrfinzhytlo”;
LLC “FC MIA GROUP”;
LLC “FC PARTNER”;
LLC “RANDL CONSULTING”.
The reasons were violations of reporting deadlines, shortcomings in documentation and improper implementation of certain financial monitoring requirements.
What does this mean for bank clients
Intensified control by the NBU may encourage financial institutions to more carefully check the origin of funds, the relevance of client data and the compliance of transactions with the financial profile of users.
In particular, banks may more often request documents confirming sources of income or clarify information about the nature of financial transactions.
At the same time, the application of a fine to a financial institution in itself does not mean an automatic restriction of clients’ access to their accounts.
