The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine will consider a wide range of draft laws on April 29, covering social policy, economics, public administration, and European integration processes.
Key issues include changes to pension legislation regarding the costs of paying and delivering preferential pensions, as well as legislative initiatives in the field of bankruptcy, in particular, simplifying procedures for small businesses. Deputies will pay special attention to civil service reform and the resumption of competitions.
European integration bloc and financial reforms
The agenda includes a number of draft laws aimed at harmonizing Ukrainian legislation with EU law. These include, in particular:
implementation of EU norms in the field of renewable energy
Ukraine’s accession to SEPA (Single European Payments Area)
improvement of the regulation of financial instruments, in particular factoring
The parliament will also consider the updated law on public procurement in the second reading.
International dimension and political decisions
A separate item is the ratification of the Convention on the Establishment of an International Compensation Commission for Ukraine — an important element of the future reparations mechanism.
In addition, the deputies will consider personnel issues, in particular, a draft resolution on the early termination of the powers of People’s Deputy Volodymyr Tsabal.
Martial law and institutional stability
The agenda includes initiatives to ensure the authority of local councils under martial law, as well as draft laws related to administrative and territorial reform and the construction of the National Memorial to the Heroes of the Heavenly Hundred.
In general, the agenda reflects several strategic directions at once: social protection, economic sustainability, and adaptation of Ukrainian legislation to EU standards.
