On May 27, during a meeting of the First Chamber of the High Qualification Commission of Judges of Ukraine, the issue of submitting a motion to second judges to another court of the same level and specialization for the administration of justice was considered.
Who is planned to be seconded
Due to excessive judicial workload, the Commission decided to submit a motion to the High Council of Justice with a recommendation to second judges for a period of one year to the Shevchenkivskyi District Court of Kyiv:
Judge of the Romenskyi City District Court of Sumy Region Hanna Tsvelodub;
Judge of the Nizhynskyi City District Court of Chernihiv Region Iryna Shevchenko.
Why was such a decision made
The HQCJ emphasized that the reason for the secondment was the significant workload on the Shevchenkivskyi District Court of the capital. Such a mechanism is used to ensure the continuous administration of justice and a more even distribution of cases between courts.
What’s next
The final decision on the secondment of judges must be made by the High Council of Justice after considering the relevant submission of the Commission.
