The Ministry of Digital Transformation is testing an AI assistant for employees of administrative service centers. The system should help administrators find the necessary information faster and reduce the time for serving citizens.

The Minister of Digital Transformation, Oksana Ferchuk, spoke about the development of the new tool during the IT Arena conference.

Currently, Ukrainian ASCs provide over 600 types of administrative services. Each of them has separate requirements for documents and its own processing procedure, so searching for the necessary information can take additional time – especially for employees who are just starting out.

How will the AI assistant work in ASCs

The new tool should quickly find the necessary instructions and provide administrators with tips on the algorithm of actions in a specific situation.

The Ministry of Digital Transformation expects that this will allow for faster service to citizens and at the same time reduce the workload on ASC employees.

The AI assistant is currently in the testing stage. It is not yet known when the system is planned to be fully launched across the entire network of ASCs and which services it will cover first.

Office AI is being prepared for civil servants

In parallel, the Ministry of Digital Affairs is working on creating Office AI, a single artificial intelligence platform for civil servants.

It is planned to use it to automate and optimize administrative processes in ministries and other state institutions.

One of the components of the system will be an internal secure AI chat. It should work on sovereign infrastructure, that is, in a technological environment that will be under national control.

The development of new tools is part of the broader implementation of artificial intelligence in the Ukrainian public sector.

According to the Ministry of Digital Affairs, during the year Ukraine rose 13 positions in the international Oxford Insights ranking, which assesses the readiness of governments to use artificial intelligence technologies.
