The court extended the investigation period until September 2026
The Supreme Anti-Corruption Court extended the pre-trial investigation period in the case of the alleged misappropriation of grain by JSC “State Food and Grain Corporation of Ukraine” in the amount of UAH 776 million until September 1, 2026.
This is a criminal case on suspicion of the former chairman of the board of the State Food and Grain Corporation of Ukraine Andriy Vlasenko and businessman Roman Tereshchenko in co-organizing a large-scale corruption scheme.
The Supreme Anti-Corruption Court partially satisfied the investigation’s request
The decision was made on May 22.
“To extend the pre-trial investigation period in criminal proceedings until September 1, 2026 inclusive,” the court’s ruling states.
Earlier, the Supreme Anti-Corruption Court also chose in absentia a preventive measure in the form of detention for Andriy Vlasenko.
NABU and SAPO report large-scale grain scheme
According to the investigation, which is being investigated by the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine and the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office, the organized group included former top officials of a state corporation and representatives of a foreign company.
The investigation established that in 2021, the management of the DPZKU concluded four foreign economic contracts for the supply of feed corn to a non-resident company.
The grain was shipped without payment
Despite the fact that the contracts provided for 100% payment for the goods before the transfer of ownership, the original bills of lading ended up with the buyer company.
This allowed the ships to be unloaded without hindrance and the grain to be disposed of without payment.
According to the investigation, to hide the scheme, copies of bills of lading with forged signatures and seals were left at the DPZKU, which was supposed to create the illusion of control over the goods.
The state lost over 100 thousand tons of grain
As a result of the transaction, the state corporation, according to law enforcement, lost almost 106 thousand tons of grain worth 776 million UAH.
The investigation into the case is ongoing.
