Volodymyr Zelenskyy sent an official urgent appeal to Donald Trump and the United States Congress regarding the critical situation with providing Ukraine with air defense means.

Ukraine reported a critical shortage of air defense

In the letter, the head of state emphasized the acute shortage of air defense systems and means necessary to protect Ukrainian cities and civilian infrastructure from Russian attacks.

The information about sending the document to journalists was confirmed by the Advisor to the President of Ukraine on Communications Dmytro Lytvyn. According to him, the appeal was addressed simultaneously to the US President and the US Congress.

Kyiv emphasizes the role of the US

Against the backdrop of the worsening security situation, the Ukrainian authorities continue to emphasize the importance of support from Washington.

Thus, Marco Rubio previously stated that Russia did not make a direct demand to evacuate the US embassy from Kyiv.

At the same time, Andriy Sybiga emphasized that without the leadership of the United States, it is impossible to stop Russian aggression. According to him, the international community must respond harshly to the threats and actions of the Russian Federation.

Official Kyiv continues to call on allies to accelerate the supply of modern air defense systems, because the protection of Ukrainian skies remains one of the key factors in the security of the population and the stability of the country’s critical infrastructure.
