The Prosecutor’s Office of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol has sent an indictment to the court against the so-called “deputy chairman of the Railway District Court of Simferopol.” According to Ukrainian media, this is Natalia Kvetkina, who is accused of war crimes and collaborationist activities.
According to the prosecutor’s office of the autonomy, the woman is charged with violations under Part 1 of Article 28, Part 1 of Article 438 and Part 7 of Article 111-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
After the occupation of Crimea, she began working in the Russian “judicial system”
According to the investigation, in 2015, the accused took the position of “judge” of the so-called “Kerch City Court.”
Later, she became “deputy chairman of the Railway District Court of Simferopol,” and in 2025 was reappointed to this position.
The prosecutor’s office emphasizes that with her activities, the accused not only ensured the functioning of the Russian judicial system in the temporarily occupied territory, but also contributed to the implementation of the policy of forcing residents of Crimea to serve in the armed forces of the aggressor state.
She convicted a Ukrainian for “evading conscription” to the Russian army
One of the key episodes of the case was the events of September 2024.
According to the investigation materials, the “judge” issued a guilty verdict against a citizen of Ukraine for allegedly “evading conscription” to the Russian armed forces.
Due to the threat of further persecution, the man was forced to leave his home in occupied Crimea.
The prosecutor’s office notes that by such actions, the accused violated the requirements of the Convention for the Protection of Civilian Persons in Time of War and Additional Protocol I, which prohibit the occupying state from forcing the civilian population of the occupied territory to serve in its armed forces.
Under Ukrainian sanctions
Since June 2026, the accused has also been under Ukrainian sanctions.
A special pre-trial investigation into the criminal proceedings was carried out by the Main Directorate of the SBU in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea.
The indictment will now be considered by the court. The woman is accused of war crimes committed by a group of persons and collaborationist activities.
