HACC Fills Long-Vacant Post: Deputy Chief Judge Appointed After Four Years

1 min to read

The High Anti-Corruption Court of Ukraine (HACC) has appointed a Deputy Chief Judge, with Judge Dmytro Mykhailenko taking the position. This marks the first time in four years that the court’s leadership has been fully staffed.

The deputy position had remained vacant for years, leaving the court without one of its key administrative roles.

The appointment comes amid renewed кадрові developments within the anti-corruption judiciary. Recently, the High Qualification Commission of Judges of Ukraine and the Public Council of International Experts announced a list of 22 successful candidates in the competition for positions at the HACC and its Appeals Chamber. Among them, three sitting judges successfully passed integrity interviews.

Observers link the recent internal appointments within the court to the emergence of a potential кадровий reserve: 19 new candidates could eventually compete not only for judicial positions but also for administrative roles within the HACC.

At the same time, the situation raises questions, as the issue of appointing a deputy had remained unresolved for years. The latest decision may indicate a shift in internal governance approaches as the court prepares for a possible renewal of its composition.
