The Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, Ihor Klymenko, has proposed introducing a rotation of police officers to frontline regions or, if possible, closer to the combat zone.
According to him, this involves a temporary assignment of law enforcement officers for a period of at least one to two months.
The decision is up to the police leadership
Klymenko noted that he has repeatedly voiced this idea, but the final decision depends on the leadership of the National Police of Ukraine.
“I would transfer everyone for at least a month or two, if not to the front, then at least to the frontline zone,” the minister said.
Potential directions of rotation
Among the possible cities for service within the framework of the rotation are:
Kramatorsk
Pavlograd
Synelnykovo
These settlements are located near areas of active combat operations and are regularly exposed to security threats.
Strengthening the training of police officers
Separately, the minister reported that they plan to more actively involve military personnel with combat experience in the training of patrol officers.
These are representatives of:
National Guard of Ukraine
State Border Service of Ukraine
They will work as instructors at training grounds, imparting practical skills necessary in wartime.
Purpose of the initiative
The Ministry of Internal Affairs believes that such a rotation will increase the level of training of police officers, their stress resistance and readiness to act in conditions of increased danger.
At the same time, the final model for implementing the initiative still requires approval at the level of the leadership of the National Police.
