In 2025, Ukrainians issued 8.6 million microloans for a total of UAH 56.76 billion. This was reported by the analytical service Opendatabot.

According to analysts, on average, citizens concluded about 720 thousand contracts every month. Despite the gradual recovery of the market after the recession at the beginning of the full-scale war, this indicator has not yet reached the pre-war level: in 2021, about 1.2 million microloans were issued monthly.

The average size of a “payday loan” in 2025 was UAH 6,600. At the same time, an increase in the average check was observed during the year: from UAH 5,780 at the beginning of the year to UAH 7,670 at the end.

The growth of the debt load attracts special attention. As of the end of the year, the total debt of Ukrainians to microfinance organizations reached UAH 27.65 billion, which is a third more than a year earlier. For comparison, at the beginning of 2023 this figure was about UAH 8 billion.

Regarding the terms of lending, the majority of agreements (61%) are concluded for a period of 3 months to one year. At the same time, analysts recorded a rapid growth in longer-term obligations: the number of microloans for a period of 2 to 3 years increased 36 times over the year.

Experts note that such dynamics may indicate both a gradual recovery of financial activity of the population and an increase in dependence on short-term credit instruments.
