Ukrainian singer Olya Polyakova announced that she received an official invitation to participate in a meeting of the Temporary Investigative Commission of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine. The artist was invited to provide testimony or explanations within the framework of the work of the parliamentary commission.

The singer reported this on her Instagram page, publishing a photo of the relevant document.

According to the invitation, the Temporary Investigative Commission is investigating possible violations of defense legislation, anti-corruption legislation, as well as observance of human rights and freedoms during martial law. In particular, the commission is checking possible facts of violations by state authorities and local self-government bodies regarding the protection of citizens’ rights and freedoms.

The document states that Olya Polyakova is invited to attend the meeting to provide testimony or explanations. The invitation was signed by the head of the Temporary Investigative Commission, People’s Deputy of Ukraine Oleksiy Goncharenko.

The reasons for which the artist was summoned to the parliamentary commission are not officially disclosed at this time. Polyakova herself also did not explain the circumstances, laconically commenting on the situation with the words: “I sang…”.

Recently, the singer’s name has been actively discussed in the public space due to her new musical project TheNogi. After the release of the clip in which Polyakova appeared in the image of Jesus Christ, some social media users accused the artist of insulting religious symbols. At the same time, the singer stated that the image used is symbolic in nature and is the personification of a person who does not give up her own beliefs, even when faced with the condemnation of the majority.

There is currently no official information about the connection between the invitation to the Temporary Investigative Commission and the recent public discussions surrounding the singer’s work.
