Ukraine provides for the possibility of receiving a pension by proxy – this is relevant for citizens who, due to health or other circumstances, cannot receive payments in person. At the same time, this procedure has clearly defined rules and time limits.

How does receiving a pension by proxy work

According to current legislation, a pensioner can authorize another person to receive his or her pension. To do this, it is necessary to issue a power of attorney – a document that determines the representative’s right to receive payments.

The term of validity of the power of attorney is set by the document itself, but regardless of this, there is a general restriction:
a pension by proxy can be paid for no more than 12 consecutive months.

What happens after 12 months

After the annual period ends, payments are not automatically extended. To renew them, a pensioner must:

personally contact any service center of the Pension Fund of Ukraine;

submit an application for the extension of pension payments.

Only after this can the pension be paid again by proxy.

Important nuance

Resumement of payments occurs from the month following the application, and not retroactively. Therefore, it is important not to delay contacting the Pension Fund in order to avoid interruptions in payments.

Receiving a pension by proxy is a convenient mechanism for those who are unable to receive funds in person. However, this procedure requires regular confirmation and compliance with established deadlines.

Timely contacting the Pension Fund will avoid delays and ensure continuous receipt of pension payments.
