Former intelligence officer, SBU colonel Roman Chervinsky has filed a lawsuit against the SBU and its former head Vasyl Malyuk. This was reported by the Glavkom publication.

The lawsuit was registered by the Shevchenkivskyi District Court of Kyiv

According to journalists, on May 25, the Shevchenkivskyi District Court of Kyiv registered Chervinsky’s corresponding lawsuit. The third party in the case is the Interfax-Ukraine news agency.

The former intelligence officer claims that he has filed a lawsuit in order to protect his honor, dignity, and business reputation. In the lawsuit, he asks to recognize certain information as unreliable, to refute it, and to collect moral compensation. The amount of compensation is not disclosed at this time.

The essence of the claims against Malyuk

As Glavkom notes, back in April of this year, Chervinsky announced the preparation of a lawsuit against Malyuk after his public statements in the media.

This concerns, in particular, the comments of the former head of the SBU, made in April 2023 in an interview with the Interfax-Ukraine agency. At that time, Malyuk stated that Chervinsky is a suspect in the case of the missile attack on the Kanatove airfield by the Russians in the Kirovohrad region on July 23, 2022.

“In my opinion, the scoundrel, whose actions led to the death of one Ukrainian serviceman and the injury of 17 others, must suffer the punishment he deserves,” Malyuk stated at the time.

Chervinsky’s position

Chervinsky himself had previously publicly denied his guilt and claimed that it was Malyuk who “created a media hype” around the case and tried to form a negative attitude towards him in society in advance.

The former intelligence officer also stated that there were no victims of his actions in the criminal proceedings regarding the attack on the Kanatove airfield.
