The Cassation Criminal Court of the Supreme Court has upheld the verdict against the person who provided the enemy with data for a missile strike on Kramatorsk in June 2023. The convict’s sentence of life imprisonment was finally confirmed.
As established by the courts of first and appellate instances, on June 27, 2023, the accused provided a representative of illegal armed formations — the so-called “head of the intelligence department of the Armed Forces Command of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the DPR” — with information about the location of Ukrainian servicemen in a cafe in Kramatorsk.
In particular, he filmed the object and sent two video messages via the Telegram messenger, thereby actually adjusting the target for the strike.
On the same day, the armed forces of the Russian Federation launched a missile strike on the specified facility. As a result of the attack, 13 people were killed, and 64 others were injured to varying degrees.
The Court of Cassation agreed with the conclusions of the previous courts regarding the proven guilt of the accused and the validity of the imposed sentence. Thus, the life imprisonment was left unchanged.
