The first Ukrainian Unity Center in Europe was inaugurated in Berlin, a space designed to become a point of support for millions of citizens who are forced to stay abroad.
According to Ukrinform, the new center aims to provide Ukrainians with access to up-to-date information, government services, and social support, regardless of their location.
A space of trust and support
Minister of Social Policy, Family, and Unity Denys Ulyutin emphasized that the creation of such a hub is an important step in maintaining the connection between citizens and the state:
“This is a space of trust, where Ukrainians can receive verified information about education, work, business, and government services. Ukraine remains close to its citizens, wherever they are.”
He also emphasized that Germany currently has the largest number of Ukrainians under temporary protection — about 1.2 million people, which makes the opening of the center particularly relevant.
What services will the center provide
Unity Hub Berlin combines several key areas of assistance:
consultations from the Pension Fund of Ukraine on pensions, subsidies and social payments;
support from UNHCR for those planning to return to Ukraine;
practical assistance with staying in Germany from ICMPD;
consultations on document processing from SE “Dokument”;
information support from the Centers for Resilience.
The first, but not the last
According to the minister, the Berlin center will become a pilot model for creating a similar network in other European countries. If necessary, Ukraine will consider the possibility of opening additional centers, including in Germany itself.
The opening of Unity Hub Berlin is another evidence that the state is systematically working to support its citizens abroad, forming a new infrastructure of interaction and assistance.
