Real estate, funds and business assets may fall under the sanctions

The Ministry of Justice announced Azarov’s support for Russia

According to the department, after fleeing Ukraine in 2014, Mykola Azarov supported Russia’s actions related to the occupation of Crimea, and after the start of the full-scale invasion, he spread pro-Russian narratives.

The Ministry of Justice also noted that his son, Oleksiy Azarov, after leaving Ukraine is doing business in the Russian Federation through a number of companies that may be related to supporting the Russian economy.

If convicted, the former prime minister faces up to 12 years in prison.

The case will be considered by the High Anti-Corruption Court
