The United States of America has officially called on Ukraine and Russia to resume direct negotiations to achieve a lasting peace. Washington voiced the corresponding position during a meeting of the UN Security Council.

US Representative to the UN Tammy Bruce stressed that the administration of President Donald Trump consistently supports the diplomatic path to ending the war. According to her, the head of the White House demonstrates a clear determination to end the hostilities, which lead to numerous victims and destruction.

The American side paid special attention to the humanitarian aspect of the war. This concerns, in particular, the return of Ukrainian children who were illegally deported or forcibly transferred to the territory of the Russian Federation. The United States has already allocated $ 25 million for the implementation of relevant programs, and this issue has also become part of the humanitarian initiative of First Lady Melania Trump.

In addition, Washington has appealed to countries that, according to US estimates, contribute to Russia’s military efforts. In particular, China was called upon to stop supplying dual-use goods, North Korea to refuse to transfer ammunition and missiles, and Iran to curtail the production and transfer of strike drones.

At the same time, the American side accused Russia of violating the UN Security Council sanctions regimes, in particular through military cooperation with Tehran.

As a result, Tammy Bruce confirmed: the United States insists on the earliest possible start of the negotiation process between Ukraine and Russia, which should lead to the end of the war and the establishment of a lasting peace.

As a reminder, Turkey previously stated its readiness to act as a platform for potential negotiations. At the same time, the Kremlin is reacting with restraint to such initiatives, although it does not rule out the possibility of dialogue.

Experts note that despite the complexity of the negotiation process, diplomatic efforts remain a key tool for ending the war and stabilizing the situation in the region.
