President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced personnel changes in the government. In the coming days, the composition of the Cabinet of Ministers may be significantly updated, and some ministries may be reorganized.
People’s Deputy Yaroslav Zheleznyak reported on possible personnel changes.
Who may head the government
According to available information, the new Prime Minister of Ukraine may be Serhiy Koretsky, who currently heads the board of Naftogaz of Ukraine.
On July 12, Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced in his address about future personnel decisions and positively assessed the results of the work of Ukrnafta and Naftogaz.
Previously, Serhiy Koretskyy managed a network of gas stations, and since 2022 he has headed Ukrnafta.
Yulia Svyrydenko may become ambassador to the United States
According to sources, the current Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko may leave the post of Prime Minister.
She will probably be offered a diplomatic job – the post of Ambassador of Ukraine to the United States of America.
The President thanked Svyridenko for her work at the head of the Cabinet of Ministers and announced that he had offered her a new responsible mission.
Yulia Svyridenko headed the government in July 2025, replacing Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal.
When can personnel changes take place
According to Yaroslav Zheleznyak, the preliminary schedule of personnel decisions provides for the dismissal of Yulia Svyridenko and, possibly, several other officials on July 14.
On the same day, the parliament may consider the issue of appointing Serhiy Koretsky to the post of Prime Minister.
The next stage may be the introduction of a package of personnel decisions regarding the new composition of the government, in particular the leadership of the Ministry of Defense and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
At the same time, Zheleznyak emphasized that this plan may still change.
Who may retain their positions
According to preliminary information, the following may remain in the new government:
— Denys Shmyhal;
— Serhiy Marchenko;
— Andriy Sybiga;
— Viktor Lyashko;
— Denys Ulyutin;
— Tetyana Berezhna;
— Matviy Bidny.
Who may be replaced
One of the most likely personnel changes is the departure of Deputy Prime Minister for Restoration Oleksiy Kuleba from the government.
Possible changes in the leadership of the Ministry of Defense are also being discussed. According to sources, the position of head of the department may be given to Minister of Internal Affairs Ihor Klymenko.
Oksen Lisovy may be dismissed from the Ministry of Education and Science. Mykola Trofymenko is named among the potential candidates for the position of the new minister.
Personnel decisions regarding the position of Deputy Prime Minister for European Integration are also possible. Instead of Taras Kachka, the candidacy of Vsevolod Chentsov is being named.
According to preliminary information, the Ministry of Justice may be headed by Denys Maslov.
In addition, changes are possible in the leadership of the Security Service of Ukraine. Among the candidates for the post of SBU head, the first deputy head of the service, Oleksandr Poklad, is named.
Which ministries may be reorganized
During the government renewal, the possibility of reorganizing a number of ministries is also being considered.
In particular, the Ministry of Resources may be divided into the Ministry of Economy and Ecology, which may be headed by Oleksiy Sobolev, and the Ministry of Agrarian Policy, headed by Taras Vysotsky.
The Ministry of Reconstruction may also be divided into the Ministry of Regional Development and the Ministry of Infrastructure. Vitaliy Bezgin is called a potential head of the Ministry of Regional Development, while the candidate for the post of head of the Ministry of Infrastructure has not yet been named.
It is expected that the first personnel decisions regarding the renewal of the Cabinet of Ministers may be adopted in the coming days. At the same time, the final configuration of the new government will depend on the decisions of the president and the vote in the Verkhovna Rada.
