The Principality of Monaco is investigating the explosion that occurred on June 29 and seriously injured Ukrainian businessman Vadym Yermolaev and his family members. Law enforcement officers are treating the incident as an attempted murder.
The local newspaper Monaco-Matin reports new details of the case.
According to the Monaco prosecutor’s office, less than two days after the explosion, one foreign citizen was detained. He was taken into custody for questioning, but was later released. The investigation is ongoing in coordination with French law enforcement agencies.
It is also known that one of the victims — according to media reports, this is the businessman’s 13-year-old son — has already been questioned in France.
Two more victims are currently unable to give evidence due to their serious health conditions. The most critical situation remains with Anna Nasobina, who suffered the most serious injuries. According to preliminary data, the woman is in critical condition, and her life remains under threat.
Investigators continue to examine physical evidence, including the elements of the explosive device, and are also trying to identify the person who left it at the scene.
According to law enforcement, surveillance cameras recorded an unknown man who left a backpack at the entrance to the house and quickly left the scene. It was after this that the explosion occurred.
Among the main versions of the investigation, a possible connection with the criminal environment is being considered. The version of a possible connection with the activities of illegal call centers in Dnipro is being checked separately.
According to sources, law enforcement officers associate the entrepreneur’s son, Artur Yermolayev, who was detained in Cyprus at the end of 2025 on the basis of an Interpol request, with this business.
So far, law enforcement agencies have not published official conclusions regarding the motives for the attempt.
