G7 leaders reaffirm unwavering support for Ukraine

Following the summit in France, the G7 countries announced new steps in support of Ukraine. The leaders of the states confirmed their unity in protecting Ukrainian sovereignty and territorial integrity, and also declared their intention to strengthen military, energy and sanctions support for our country.

The joint statement emphasizes that Ukraine is demonstrating resilience and achieving success in certain areas of the front, which creates a new impetus for further international assistance.

Ukraine promised more air defense systems and long-range weapons

Among the key decisions of the summit are an increase in the supply of air defense systems, additional interception systems and long-range weapons to Ukraine.

The G7 leaders emphasized that protecting Ukrainian skies remains one of the top priorities amid ongoing Russian attacks on civilian and critical infrastructure.

Weapons production can be expanded directly in Ukraine

The summit participants paid special attention to the development of Ukraine’s defense-industrial complex. The G7 countries are ready to consider mechanisms for expanding licensing agreements that will allow for increased weapons production directly on Ukrainian territory.

According to the partners, this will help strengthen the country’s defense capabilities and reduce dependence on external supplies.

Help to get through the winter

The summit participants also agreed to continue supporting the Ukrainian energy sector. The statement emphasizes the importance of ensuring the country’s energy stability on the eve of the next heating season.

The partners confirmed their readiness to help Ukraine get through the next winter in the face of constant attacks on energy infrastructure.

Sanctions pressure on the Kremlin will increase

A separate block in the statement was the issue of strengthening sanctions against the Russian Federation. The G7 countries have announced their intention to tighten restrictions, in particular on the Russian oil and gas sector, which remains one of the main sources of financing the war.

The summit participants stressed that international pressure on the Kremlin must be maintained until Russia stops its aggression against Ukraine.

Zelensky and Trump discuss further support

On the sidelines of the summit, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky met with US President Donald Trump. According to the Ukrainian head of state, the talks were positive and concerned further military support for Ukraine, as well as the situation on the front.

Zelensky noted that in some areas of the fighting, the Russian army has already lost the initiative, and international support remains one of the key factors in strengthening Ukraine’s positions.
