Ukraine is to adopt a bill to abolish preferential taxation of imported parcels worth up to 150 euros in the fall of 2026. This is one of the state’s international obligations to the European Union and the International Monetary Fund.

This was stated by Danylo Hetmantsev, head of the parliamentary committee on finance, tax and customs policy.

According to him, the previous attempt to adopt the relevant bill failed due to insufficient support in parliament. This is bill No. 12360, which the Verkhovna Rada did not support in May of this year.

At the same time, Hetmantsev stressed that it is practically impossible to postpone this decision, since the abolition of the benefit is directly provided for in the memorandum with the IMF and is included in the list of structural reforms for obtaining the next tranches of financing.

Currently, the Cabinet of Ministers is to prepare a new bill that will provide for the introduction of value-added tax for international postal items worth up to 150 euros.

This change could have a significant impact on both the e-commerce market and consumers who actively use international marketplaces.
